Alfio is the Chief Instructor and owner of Ki Martial Arts Academy.
He has been practising martial arts for over 28 years and has trained in the arts of Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do, Muay Thai, Boxing and a little MMA.
Alfio has trained under the tutelage of Master Nak, who is a Master in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do, for 26 years.
Martial Arts became and still are an obsession with Alfio.
Alfio is constantly training, reading and learning with the view to expand his knowledge and skill base. He is also a strong believer in developing the mental side of the martial arts so that when incorporated with the physical benefits, helps build confident, disciplined and assertive individuals who are both mentally and physically strong, but also peaceful and respectful.
These are the attributes that, along with awe-inspiring technical skill, define Alfio and are what sets him apart from many others within the martial arts community and as a result, is highly respected and sought after instructor.
Alfio has won numerous State and National Full Contact, all styles championships, in Sparring (fighting) as well as Patterns.
He became one of the youngest registered 1st degree Black belts with the International Tae Kwon Do Federation at 11 years of age.
At the young age of 33, Alfio is an International Certified Instructor and Examiner and class A International Umpire through the International Taekwon-do federation and holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-do (ITF) as well as 1st Dan Black Belt in Hapkido.
He has also held numerous State and National titles between 1990 – 2004 in Taekwon-do and Full Contact All style competitions.
He has had a very successful competition career culminating in selection for the Australian Taekwon-do and All Style Martial Arts teams to compete in various International competitions.
